The German film crews were still here today, but I didn’t care because I was on corvee today. Corvee is basically food and cleaning duty. I got up at 6 and had to have the breakfast room set up with coffee, tea, cereal, biscotti, and dishes by 6:30. I was the only one from the convent on corvee today, so I had to do that part on my own. (The other two were residents of the Container).
After breakfast, Teresa came up from the Container to help me with the rest of the day. We cleaned the bathrooms, went grocery shopping for lunch, and came back with the help of Antonella, who’s in charge of corvee. When we came back, Antonella went to dig for a while while Teresa and I made lunch for 60 people. It takes 4kg of pasta con pesto, 4 bags of salad, 3 cantaloupes, a dozen plums, a dozen apples, 2 loaves of bread (larger than dinner plates), 27 liters of water, and about 10 of wine to serve that many. Just in case you were wondering. After lunch we washed dishes, cleaned the lunchroom, refilled 42 liters of water for the afternoon dig, and went back to our rooms to rest. At 7:15 Antonella and I were picked up to get dinner from the restaurant in town that makes it for us. Dinner was pasta with tomato sauce, seafood mix (mostly calamari), and spinach and onions. After dinner we cleaned up, prepped water for the next day, and went to our rooms. Busy day.
